Technology from Ideas Limited (TfI), an Irish technology commercialisation company, is pleased to announce that it has received an investment from 4th Level Ventures and is finalising an agreement for investment with Enterprise Ireland. This start-up funding will enable the company to source ideas from partnered universities in Ireland and then develop these into investment ready technologies for subsequent sale to industry.
Commenting on today’s announcement, Dan Richardson, TfI’s Managing Director, said: “The securing of our start-up funding is a major milestone for the company. We’re pleased to have investors onboard who understand the technology commercialisation business and in particular have a great deal of experience in working with academic institutions.”
Ray Naughton, 4th Level Ventures, said: “TfI will be providing the academic institutions in Ireland with a valuable and much needed service of focused, market led technology development expertise. We’re delighted to be supporting this business in the early stages of its growth and believe they have the necessary ingredients to create a world class global technology commercialisation business.”
Dick Lenehan, Enterprise Ireland’s High Potential Start-Up Unit (HPSU) said: “As an international traded services business, TfI have a unique business model that will complement the current commercialisation initiatives underway by Enterprise Ireland and the university technology transfer offices. Their focus on creating high value, knowledge economy jobs coupled with their heavy focus on technology development and intellectual property generation makes TfI an exciting addition to the country’s high-tech sector.”
