4th Level Ventures has two established venture capital funds:

  4th Level Ventures University Seed Fund
  4th Level Ventures Fund

The investment criteria are as follows:

4th Level Ventures University Seed Fund – Investment Criteria
The 4LV Seed Fund invests up to a maximum of €750,000 in high potential start-up companies arising from research carried out in Irish third level educational institutions. Companies fulfilling some or all of the following criteria are considered:

• Large international market opportunity with high potential;
• Market pull rather than market push
• IP is cleanly held;
• Technology is defensible;
• Customers are identified,
• Management team is committed to exploiting the potential.

4th Level Ventures Fund – Investment Criteria
The 4LV Fund invests up to €2mln in more mature companies whose origins lie in third level educational institutions globally. Companies fulfilling some or all of the following criteria are considered:

• Large proven market with market pull;
• Reference customers and a strong sales pipeline;
• Revenue generating, with a strong experienced management team focused on driving the company to profitability;
• Product/technology roadmap is clear;
• Company has a proven track record of achieving milestone objectives;
• International VCs are investing in the sector;
• Scalable business model and a clear route to market;
